Making Schools kepSmart

Most schools lack the control to direct heating/cooling to where it is needed most. Temperature is often controlled by the ALL ON method, which creates hot and cold spots throughout (Figure 1),

kepSmart’s experienced team first surveys the floorplan and piping. We then systematically create the necessary controllable Virtual HVAC Zones (Figure 2).

Each Zone consists of a;

• Temperature sensor
• Motion Sensor
• Radiator or Air Duct actuator
• Sensor Control Unit (SCU).

The SCUs provide power and control to the actuators. They also make instant adjustments on instructions received from centrally installed Sensor Monitoring Units (SMU).

The SMUs communicate with the kepSmart cloud servers. That is where the AI software tracks trends and changes, constantly building an historical usage pattern. This historical data enables the system to predict behaviors so heating/cooling can be delivered in the most efficient and timely manner, creating a consistently comfortable environment throughout the school (Figure 3).
